Sonia Halpern is an Art Historian and has been a popular prof at Western University for many years. She has also published two books of humourous poetry and a book of original music compositions. She enjoys teaching art appreciation courses in the London community.

Welcoming Art Historian Sonia Halpern back to our studio this winter,
we're excited to host our next ART SMART Lecture Series:
"Making a Lasting Impression: The Impact of Impressionist Art"
In late 19th-century France, Impressionism was an anti-establishment style. Over time, however, it became one of the most beloved styles in the history of art! This 6-part weekly course will focus on the years Impressionism took hold of the art world. From its rise to its inevitable demise, we'll examine the movement's stylistic priorities of light and colour through the works of famous artists including Monet, Renoir, Degas, and Cassatt. We hope you join us on this journey as we experience the beauty of a style that has endured the test of time!
